Oral Dietary Supplements Use among Healthcare Workers during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Malaysia

Healthcare workers (HCWs) must be aware of the latest data supporting or refuting use oral dietary supplements (ODS) in order to disseminate evidence-based health information and help patients make informed decisions. Nevertheless, there is relatively scant on prevalence supplement among HCWs, types recommended by their reasons for recommending these products, particularly during COVID-19 outbreak. This study examined ODS surveyed considered used those identified given HCWs using not ODS, determined whether were pandemic. cross-sectional targeted all working at a district hospital Malaysia was conducted via self-administered online survey. The survey revealed that 67.3% did recommend patient pandemic, despite 55.3% reported personal Type (P=0.001), monthly household income (P=0.019), prior (P<0.001) recommendation significantly associated with Vitamin C most commonly (81.3%) (95.0%) ODS. “To maintain overall wellness” common reason (83.3% & 79.2%). Given increasing rate further research should done so recommendations can formulated ensure safety.
